He began his career in 1973 as an Estate Assistant/Senior Assistant Manager at Harrisons & Crosfield PLC (H&C) which later became Harrisons Malaysian Plantations Berhad (HMPB) and Golden Hope Plantations Berhad (Golden Hope). In 1982, he was appointed as Estate Manager and was later promoted to various positions as Estate Visiting Agent, General Manager, Director of Estates and Group Director, Plantations Agribusiness until he retired in 2006. From 2006 to 2008, he was a Director, Special Functions and later the Consultant, Lead Trainer for Golden Hope. In 2008, he joined Poliplant Group, Indonesia, & Clarity Resources Ltd, Hong Kong, based in Jakarta, Indonesia, as its Board Director and Corporate & Operations Director where he served until 2015. Qualifications: Kasmuri holds a Masters in Management from Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines and an Advanced Management Programme (AMP) from Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, United States. His other fields of study include Associate Diploma (AISP) from Incorporated Society of Planters, Malaysia and Diploma in Planting Industry Management (DPIM) from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia.
